Lingerie to some is an afterthought and to others the beginning of any great outfit.

But let’s face it, the proper lingerie can not only enhance how you feel but also accentuate that outer layer! So here goes the basics of what every lingerie drawer should hold that will keep you well prepared for any event.  Also, seasons change and so should bras.  Padded add warmth (which are good for winter) and lightweight cotton is cooler and fresh for the summer.

The everyday bra  Seamless or seamed, these are bras that are soft and feel good.  They look good under clothes and add support.

Convertible  Straps that can be transformed into a halter, racer-back, one-shoulder, or strapless style make up a convertible bra.  Versatility means you have the right bra in a pinch with that cute new top without having to go shopping.

Strapless Instead of straps it has wide sides and sewn in silicone stitching to keep it in place. This style should be worn with strapless tops, evening gowns, or outfits where a normal bra would show.

Demi-Cup   This contoured, underwire bra has cups partially cut away to expose the top of the breast. This bra style almost always has wide set shoulder straps as well. It’s a very flattering style and comes in handy when you find yourself with a low cut, wide scoop or square neckline where your every day bra will show.

Push-Up This is designed with additional padding at the bottom portion of the cup, which lifts the breasts to give the illusion of a fuller bust-line. This type of bra comes in handy when an outfit calls for a more filled-out look.

Sports Bra  A sports bra is a must in your wardrobe. Breasts are supported by the non-elastic Cooper’s ligaments. Frequent breast bounce can break down these ligaments and causes permanent sagging in your breasts if not supported. Recommended whether you are active or not.

Backless This bra is a must-have for formal attire with a low back. Some can even be converted to strapless for more versatility.

Lace -Every woman needs a pretty lacy bra.  For no good reason other than it just makes you feel sexy, they look super feminine  and by-the-way – men love them, especially in black.  Although red usually does the trick too!

BOTTOM LINE: Good lingerie makes you feel great and look better in your clothes if done properly. Also it DOESN’T have to be expensive.  I have found many  fine pieces at JOE Fresh and WALMART.

What do you think, is it worth it having a drawer full of go-to lingerie for any occasion?
