On Friday, September 26th, 2014, at approximately 11:00p.m., members of the Niagara Regional Police Service and Niagara Emergency Medical Services  attended the area of Valley Way and Morrison Street in the City of Niagara Falls for a  20 year old male found to be suffering from a stab wound to his torso.
Police investigation determined that an altercation occurred earlier at a Morrison Street address. The male subsequently left on foot and proceeded to the area of Valley Way and Morrison Street where he collapsed and a passerby called ‘911’.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and then to Hamilton General Hospital where he is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
The assailant and accused are known to each other.
The assailant has been identified as 22 year old,  Brandon Roesler of Niagara Falls.  He was arrested on Saturday, September 27th , 2014 during the morning hours in the City of Niagara Falls.  Roesler  is  charged with Aggravated Assault and will be held  in custody, pending a bail hearing, scheduled for  Sunday, September 28th, 2014 at 9:00a.m. at the Robert K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street, St Catharines.
