On Thursday January 1, 2015 just after 12 pm, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service along with Niagara Emergency Medical Services responded to the area of Lakeshore Road, west of Read Road in the City of St. Catharines for reports of a deceased male having been found.
Police say upon arrival, the body of a deceased male was found in a ditch along the North Side of the roadway (Map of area pictured below).
Lakeshore Road between Read Road and Seaway Haulage Road was temporarily blocked off as members of the St. Catharines Uniform Branch, Detective Office and Forensic Services Unit investigated the scene.
The identity of the male is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin. Police are appealing to the public for any information relating to this investigation. Anyone with information is requested to contact the 1 District Detective Office at extension #4385.
