In January of 2015, members of the Welland Street Crime Unit and 6 District Uniform Patrol initiated an investigation into the sale of cocaine in licensed establishments within the City of Port Colborne, Ontario.
On Friday January 9, 2015 police say they arrested a male in connection with this investigation. As a result, police seized what is believed to be approximately 15 grams of cocaine valued at approximately $1,500.00 and approximately 8 grams of suspected MDMA in a crystal form valued at approximately $1,000.00. Police also seized approximately $900.00 in Canadian currency.
Andy JORRITSMA, a 23 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00
JORRITSMA is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Saturday January 10, 2015.
