In October of 2014, members of the Barrie Police Service (BPS) Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, and the Niagara Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit began a joint investigation into crimes involving the handling of Child Pornography material.

On February 12th, 2015, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, along with members of the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation(ICE) Unit, and members of the Welland Uniform Patrol Branch executed a search warrant at a Pelham residence.

According to police, charged with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography, one count of Making Child Pornography Available, and one count of Possession of marihuana is 39 year old Jeffery J. DMYTROW of Pelham, Ontario.

DMYTROW is being held in custody pending a bail hearing, at the Robert S.K. Welch courthouse, located at 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

The Niagara Regional Police Service, Internet Child Exploitation Unit are members of The Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet.

The Provincial Strategy was created in 2006, in response to the McGuinty Governments request that Police develop a coordinated province wide approach to combating Internet crimes against children. The Provincial Strategy is jointly supported by the Ministry of the Attorney General and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services
