In November of 2014, the Niagara Regional Police Service Sexual Assault Unit entered into an investigation involving historical sex offences in the city of Welland.

According to police, on February 11, 2015, James Allen (Al) Clark was arrested and charged with seven sex offences after a number of victims disclosed the abuse they suffered as a youth.  He was released from custody on a recognizance of bail the following day.  In that time a number of new victims came forward and disclosed the abuse they suffered as a youth.

On February 13, 2015, James Allen (Al) Clark of the city of Welland was arrested and charged with five new offences which include, two counts of Sexual Assault, Sexual Exploitation and two counts of Administer Noxious Thing.  He will be held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for February 14, 2015.

Investigators still have reason to believe that there are a number of victims who have yet to come forward.  Anyone with information to share is encouraged to call the Niagara Regional Police Sexual Assault Unit.Detective L. Holmes or Detective M. Ryan at extension 5100
