On January 6th, 2015 at 10:55pm Gales Gas located at 302 Gilmore Road, Fort Erie was the target of a robbery.

A single male, brandishing a small knife, entered the Gales Gas kiosk demanding money. The male obtained a small amount of cash and numerous cigarette packages.  The assailant fled on foot, eastbound on Gilmore Road.

The male is described as:
white, twenty-five years of age
wearing a black ski mask, dark clothing and winter gloves.

The Gales Gas staff member was not injured in this incident.

Members of the #5 District Detective Office with the assistance of uniform members, continued the investigation and were able to identify a suspect in this matter. On Wednesday, February 18, 2015 Police arrested 35 year old Levi DRAPER of Fort Erie. DRAPER is charged with Robbery contrary to section 344(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

During the investigation, DRAPER was also identified as being responsible for several incidents of theft from stores in the Fort Erie area. As a result he was further charged with five counts of Theft Under $5,000, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

DRAPER will be held in custody pending a bail hearing on February 19, 2015.
