Gearing up for the incredible TD Niagara Jazz Festival coming July 23-26, niagarabuzz.ca tagged along for a “Pre-Event” Taste of Wine Jazz Tour  that combined food, wine and of course the smooth sounds of jazz in the lovely outdoors…

We started things off at 13th Street Winery where we met our lovely host Juliet (Executive Director of the Niagara Jazz Festival and Mandy)

Then it was off to enjoy some of the fare ….. this Cuvée 13 Rosé was a favourite with its hints of grapefruit and gorgeous red colour…

Book Club Members Carole, Carole-Anne, Teri, Anne, and Susanne enjoyed the day as a group… (By the way their book club is called Afterwords which we thought was a GREAT  name)…

After a while we headed to the backyard grounds of 13th Street amongst the lush greenery where there was more wine and food tasting and a brief educational chat …

Andrew, the owner and chef from soon-to-be-opening St. Catharines restaurant Bolete chatted to the group and treated us to scrumptious food as well….(we were especially WOWED by the pastries made from scratch…yummm)…

We checked out great antiques, art and happened upon a little studio off the beaten path (Parlamaine Studio) that had some really unique pieces…

We went into the cellar to see first hand where the wine is kept.  It was dark and cool and beautiful inside…

Coming back outside to the daylight,  we soaked in the sunshine on the Creekside Patio and dug into tasty snacks and beverages…

More wonderful jazz from Bob, Jim and Doug entertained us while we sat.  From Stevie Wonder to the Wizard of Oz soundtrack….they had everyone’s musical tastes covered nicely…(we LOVED the sax)!
