In May of 2015 members of the Niagara Regional Police Service, #2 District Street Crime Unit began investigating the sale of Crystal Methamphetamine by a local male.
On Thursday June 11th 2015 with the assistance of the Emergency Task Unit, Detectives executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a local motel room being rented by the male.
Police say the search of the location resulted in the seizure of Crystal Methamphetamine, Heroin, prescription medication, and currency.
The following five people were arrested as a result of this investigation:
33 year old Michael CROFT was charged with two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000, and Breach of Probation. CROFT was held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 12th 2015.
53 year old Tracy RIVARD was charged with two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Breach of Probation. RIVARD was held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 12th 2015.
37 year old Michael PEREIRA was charged with two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. PEREIRA was released from custody and is required to attend court at a later date.
22 year old Evening GIROUX was charged with two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. GIROUX was released from custody and is required to attend court at a later date.
33 year old Tara MARGETTIE was charged with two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance. MARGETTIE was held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 12th 2015.
