Police say shortly before 7:00 pm on June 14, 2015 members of the Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a call at a private residence in the south end of St. Catharine near Glenridge Avenue.

Investigation revealed that a 6-year-old girl was seriously injured in an unintentional drowning incident.

 

The girl was transported to the Niagara Health System St. Catharines Hospital, and later taken to the McMaster Children’s Hospital where she remains under intensive care. Police continue to investigate the matter; foul play is not suspected.
