The Pan Am Games is the world’s third largest international multi-sport competition, with a number of events taking place right here in Niagara.

Canoeing and kayaking events will take place at the Pan Am Flatwater Centre in Welland. It is an ideal spot for hosting fast-paced paddling sports, and in preparation for the 2015 Pan American Games, there is a widened a section of the canal, two new buildings (including a timing tower and the athlete centre), a plaza, start towers and permanent seating for 500 spectators.

There will be 13 different medal events here; 5 Women’s events, and 8 Men’s events. Races vary from 200 meters to 1000 meters in distance.

The St.Catharines Royal Canadian Henley Rowing Centre on Martindale Pond will host all the Pan Am Games Rowing competitions. There are 14 Men’s and Women’s events. It is North America’s largest rowing regatta, rated as a world-class rowing course by the International Rowing Federation.
