Dan Giancola, owner and motivational man extraordinaire of BTO (Be That One) Performance Gym in Thorold is no stranger to seeing people that need help and inspiring them achieve their goals. His gym has become the talk of the town with its high powered physical and emotional connection to his clients.

A pro ex footballer that overcame all odds himself  to achieve his own dreams, (Giancola made his CFL debut with the Toronto Argonauts during the 1999 CFL season as a 29-year-old rookie) he now is on a mission to help others.

His latest announcement embodies his mission and focuses on 8 year old local girl Abbi Monaghan.  Abbi was diagnosed at 18 months with a rare life threatening disease called Cystinosis which eventually destroys every organ in the body including the kidneys, liver, muscles, white blood cells, eyes and central nervous system. Treatments exist , but cures do not . (Abbi pictured below)

Giancola’s The Rock to the Lock Campaign will see him taking on the ride of a lifetime to help find hope for Abbi. Check out the video below.

Abbi’s family say they truly embraced the sayings “Everything Happens for a Reason” and “Surround Yourself with Positive People” when they met Dan Giancola for the first time at a Charity event “Heaters Hero’s” in Niagara Falls Ontario where he walked the track with Abbi to support her journey with Cystinosis and they made a connection. Maybe it was their mutual love for “Selfies” or maybe it was Abbi’s determination to run the track instead of walking. Whatever it was it was just the beginning of the love and support that Abbi would receive from Giancola.

Dan’s incredible journey that begins in St. John’s New Brunswick (The Rock) on August 1, 2016 and continues for 31 days on bike to Niagara (The Lock) needs our community to get on board and support the cause by sharing the video and the story!
