According to police, on Saturday July 18, 2015, at approximately 1:45 a.m., the Niagara Regional Police, along with EMS were called to Ontario Street near St Paul Street in the City of St Catharines for a fight in the area. A fight had started inside an adjacent bar, and spilled out onto Ontario Street. The fight resulted in one of the combatants being assaulted with a weapon and all other involved persons fleeing the area.

Through witness accounts, the suspect is described as a white male, approximately 19-20 years of age, 5’9″ tall, 130 lbs, dark hair, wearing a red, white and grey striped shirt and dark jeans. The suspect fled the area into the neighbourhood to the west of Ontario Street and in the direction of Yates Street.

The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of his injuries. His injuries were assessed as being non-life threatening for which he received medical treatment and was released.

At the time of the incident, a number of exiting bar patrons were observed in the area. Police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed any part of this fight, or who may have any information that may assist the investigation, to call Detective Constable Brandon Southcott of the 1 District Detective Office at 905-688-4111 ext 4358.
