Police say the Niagara Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has conducted an Investigation that has resulted in the September 22nd arrest of 26 year old James Aaron Charles CRONIN of Pelham Ontario.

 

He has been charged with the following 11 Offences:

 

Make Child Pornography contrary to section 163.1 (2) Criminal Code of Canada.

 

Distribute Child Pornography contrary to section 163.1 (3) Criminal Code of Canada. (Two Charges)

 

Possess Child Pornography contrary to section 163.1(4)Criminal Code of Canada.(Two Charges)

 

Voyeurism contrary to section 162 Criminal Code of Canada.

Distribute Intimate Images contrary to section 162.1 Criminal Code of Canada.

 

Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1(1) Criminal Code of Canada. (Two Charges)

 

Fail to Comply with Criminal Code Prohibition Order contrary to section 161 Criminal Code of Canada.  

 

Assault contrary to section 266 Criminal Code of Canada.

 

CRONIN has been held in custody, pending a bail hearing scheduled for September 23rd, 2015 at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse, 59 Church Street, in the City of St. Catharines.

The Niagara Regional Police Service is a member of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the internet and conducts investigations into Internet Child Exploitation Offences in partnership with numerous Ontario Police Services. This investigative initiative has been made possible with financial assistance from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and the Ministry of the Attorney General.
