Fort George Halloween Ghost Tours

Head to Fort George for a haunted exploration within its walls. This 2-hour walking tour includes stories too frightening to be told on the summer tours, and opens a building (the Officers’ Quarters) usually off-limits to the Ghost Tour.

Drummond Hill Cemetery Tours 

On October 16th, 17th, 23rd and the 24th, the Niagara Falls History Museum conducts tours of Drummond Hill Cemetery. This cemetery includes the site where soldiers from the Battle of Lundy’s Lane and many famous settlers are buried.

This happens in the evening led by a costumed guide. You will wander the grounds and happen upon theatrical performances that provide a glimpse of the lives of some of the people from the history of the city.

Time: 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm (approximately 1 hour each)

Cost: Tickets must be purchased in advance at the museum and are $12/person.

Pumpkinville at Happy Rolph’s

St.Catharines‘ favourite animal sanctuary, Happy Rolph’s, is holding their 27th annual “Pumpkinville” event on Saturday, Oct. 17th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

This is a FREE event and it includes:

Canal Bank Shuffle Blues Festival 

This is Niagara’s 14th annual music festival (Niagara’s biggest!) which takes place from October 15th to October 18th at various destinations and venues within Thorold. There will be over 25 bands, and 8 venues over 4 days.

Tickets are $30 at the door and gets you into ALL shows.

All proceeds are donated to Community Care this year.

Ghost Walks in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Every evening in October from 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm you can experience ghost walks in Canada’s Most Haunted Town! This tour begins at “the Haunted Shop” at 126 Queen Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake and features the old town and the many stories of ghosts and dark history.

Detailing the rich stories fitting of such a historically dark place, including the ghost of an angry soldier at The Angel, the violent legend on the shores of Lake Ontario, and a house that makes cameras go crazy.

Also includes stops outside the Niagara-on-the-Lake Courthouse, Prince of Wales Hotel, Apothecary, Royal George Theatre.

Stories of séances, town secrets, legends in the birth place of our nation and the violent heart of the only war fought on Canadian soil.

PenFinancial Credit Union’s Trivia Night to support Skates for Kids

6 p.m. to 10 p.m., 414 River Rd., Welland. Trivia Night includes silent auction, prizes, local trivia and food prepared by staff at Riverstone Event Centre. Skates for Kids brings gently used skates and new helmets to Niagara-area schools. Proceeds from this event will benefit the schools Edith Cavell and DeWitt Carter.

From 10 a.m. at Oakes Park, Morrison Street, Niagara Falls. A call for volunteers has been issued for Fall Community Clean Sweep Day, to be held Saturday, Oct. 17 at Oakes Park, beginning at 10 a.m. This event will take place rain or shine.
