Loblaw Company Ltd. is recalling a Joe Fresh brand baby jacket sold at Loblaws and affiliated stores across the country due to a possible choking hazard caused when young kids pull off the buttons according to a company statement.

All affected jackets are quilted and striped, and have the product code “BBF5OT4316” on their tags.

The corporation said it is aware of one situation where a child removed a button and put it in their mouth, but that no injuries have been reported.

“We apologize for any concern this recall may have caused,” the company said. “The health and safety of our customers and their children is our top priority.”

The jackets were sold in the following stores across Canada, starting Sept. 1:

  • Ontario: Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, Joe Fresh, Fortinos, No Frills, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs and JoeFresh.com.
  • Atlantic Canada: Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, Joe Fresh and JoeFresh.com.
  • Quebec: Joe Fresh, Maxi & Cie, Loblaws, Provigo and JoeFresh.com.
  • Western Canada: Joe Fresh, Real Canadian Superstore, Real Canadian Wholesale Club, No Frills, Your Independent Grocer and JoeFresh.com
