Police say, since March of 2016 members of the Niagara Regional Police Service, Guns, Gangs, and Grows Unit have been receiving information regarding a Richmond Street male selling cocaine from his residence.

 

As a result of the information an investigation began. On April 21st, 2016 a search warrant was obtained to enter and search the Richmond Street residence. At approximately 4:00 pm the accused was observed driving in his vehicle when he was stopped by uniform officers and arrested. Police then executed the search warrant. As a result of the search Police seized $2,700.00 in cocaine, $10,700.00 in marihuana, and $6,225.00 in cash.

Charged with 2 counts Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and 1 count of Possession of the proceeds of Crime is 44-year-old Leo Anthony Loney of Thorold. Loney was subsequently released from custody on an Office in Charge Undertaking and will return to court in June to answer to his charges.
