In May, 2016 members of the 1 District Street Crime Unit conducted an investigation in to a male involved in the sale of Fentanyl within the City of St. Catharines. Police say they observed this male involved in suspected drug transactions throughout the investigation. On May 19, 2016 based on the investigation, Police decided to arrest this male directly after he sold Fentanyl within an apartment building parking lot.

 

The target of the investigation was arrested within a vehicle, and Police recovered Fentanyl and currency believed to be the proceeds of drug sales. Police also stopped another vehicle and recovered Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Marijuana. 4 persons total were arrested and charged with several criminal offences.

Jason GODIN, a 39 year old resident of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Schedule I Substance, Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

Jonathan GAZLEY, a 32 year old resident of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance x2, Possession of a Schedule II Substance, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

Carly MacDONALD, a 32 year old resident of Port Colborne was arrested and charged with Posssession of a Schedule I Substance.

Jessica TURNER, a 23 year old resident of Port Colborne was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance.

In total Police recovered $1,600 in drugs, and currency believed to be proceeds obtained through drug sales.  GODIN was held pending a bail hearing for May 20, 2016. GAZLEY, MacDONALD,  and TURNER were released on Officer in Charge Undertakings.

Separately, on May 19, 2016 members of the 1 District Street Crime Unit observed a male and female making several suspected mobile drug deals throughout St. Catharines. These persons were followed and eventually arrested as a suspected drug transaction was about to occur. As a result, these persons were arrested and Police recovered crack cocaine and proceeds suspected of being from the sale of drugs.

Tanya VALLAINCOURT, a 39 year old resident of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking an d Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.

Robert STOCKWELL, a 42 year old resident of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000,  and Fail to Comply with Probation.
In total, Police recovered $3,500 in currency believed to be the proceeds of drug sales and crack cocaine.
