Police say, on Wednesday August 3rd 2016 Niagara Falls Street Crime Detectives executed search warrants at two Niagara Falls residences in relation to an on-going investigation into Break and Enters that have occurred throughout the Region.

 

At approximately 1030pm the warrants were executed and two Niagara Falls brothers were arrested and charged with numerous offences.  Inside the residences Detectives recovered 3 firearms that have been stolen from Break and Enters as well as numerous electronics such as televisions, laptops and gaming systems.  Numerous tools were also recovered during the search and Detectives are continuing attempts to identify the victims.

On August 4th 2016 Detectives again executed a search warrant at one of the homes to recover more stolen property.  The property was recovered and as a result additional charges are laid.  Detectives anticipate numerous additional charges once victims are identified.

Charged is 46yr old Mark Hamerton of Niagara Falls.  Mark faces 11 criminal charges and was held pending a bail hearing on August 5th 2016 in St Catharines.  Mark is charged with 3 counts of break, enter and commit an indictable offence, 2 counts of trafficking in stolen property, possession of stolen property, 2 counts careless storage of a firearm and 2 counts unauthorized possession of a firearm and 2 counts of possession of a firearm obtained by crime.

Also charged is his brother 44yr old Stacey Hamerton of Niagara Falls.  Stacey faces 8 criminal charges and held for a bail hearing on August 5th 2016 in St Catharines.  Stacey is charged with 2 counts of break, enter and commit an indictable offence, trafficking in stolen property, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of stolen property, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm obtained by crime.
