Today is Labour Day, a statutory holiday so just a heads up that things are not open as usual.  Here is a rundown of changes for Monday September 5th:

-Government offices, municipal buildings, and banks

-Post offices

-All LCBO and Beer stores will be closed as well as most grocery stores

-All essential services provided by Niagara Region will be available on Labour Day which includes all the regular garbage and recycling collection.

-Niagara Region Transit and Niagara Specialized Transit will not be operating today .

-If you are hoping to do a little shopping, the Outlets in Niagara Falls and Niagara-On-The-Lake will be open but will be operating on a holiday schedule which is 10 am to 6 pm.

WHAT IS LABOUR DAY?

Labour Day in Canada is celebrated on the first Monday of September. It originally gave workers the chance to campaign for better working conditions or pay. The day is now part of a long weekend for many Canadians.
