Police say at approximately 8:15 PM on Monday, September 12th, 2016, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services, West Lincoln and Pelham Fire Departments and the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Canborough Road at Boyle Road, in the Township of West Lincoln, within the Regional Municipality of Niagara.

 

Initial investigation revealed that a 27-year-old male resident of Welland was driving a 1997 GMC motor vehicle southbound on Boyle Road when it came into collision with a 2008 Ford motor vehicle that was westbound on Canborough Road and being driven by a 62-year-old male from Niagara Falls. 911 was called and a number of residents in this area came out of their homes and assisted the occupants of the two vehicles.

The driver of the GMC suffered fatal injuries in this collision while his 23-year-old male passenger and the driver of the Ford were transported to an out of town hospital with life threatening injuries.

This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
