Police say in October of 2016, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit commenced an investigation into a male from Toronto suspected of conducting mobile drug transactions in the City of St.Catharines.

 

On October 4th 2016, police observed suspected drug transactions by this individual. At 5:10 p.m., Police arrested this male after a brief foot pursuit through a Welland Avenue business parking lot. This male was arrested by members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit.  Police located a large quantity of Heroin, Cocaine and Canadian currency.

Arrested and charged was 22 year old Shawn SPAULDING of Toronto.

SPAULDING has been charged with the following offences:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Heroin)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000

As a result of this investigation Police seized $2600 worth of Heroin and Cocaine and $1200 in Canadian Currency.

SPAULDING was held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 5th 2016.
