Niagara Regional Police say a 63 year old St. Catharines man is now facing theft charges in connection with the $20,000 theft of beams at the site of the Burgoyne Bridge construction site reported to have happened sometime last week between Wednesday and Thursday.

The original report indicated that four large metal platforms were dismantled and the thief made off with 40 aluminum beams in total measuring 14 feet in length, 5 inches in height and 3 inches in width.

Now arrested for the incident is 63 year old Dan Rizzardo.  Police say they also recovered the stolen beams.
