On Friday November 11, 2016 at approximately 8:25 p.m., police say two male suspects entered into the room of a female who was staying at the Days Inn located at 89 Meadowvale Drive, St. Catharines.

Once the male suspects entered the room, a struggle ensued between them and the lone female occupant.  The suspects stole personal items from the victim and an undisclosed amount of currency prior to fleeing on foot out of the Hotel through a West side emergency door.

The first male suspect was described as Eastern European; 25 years of age, 5.6′ tall, very slim build, with dark short hair and a short beard.  This male had distinct body odor, he wore black Adidas track pants, an aqua blue t-shirt with a black sweater over top and a black ball cap.

The second male suspect was described as Eastern European, 25 years of age, 6.0′ tall, stalky build, with dark wavy hair and a thicker beard.  He wore a light puffy coat with fur on the hood.

Both males were described as having Eastern European accents.

A red Ford Edge SUV was observed speeding away from the area East down Scott Street then North on Dorothy Street.  It is not known if this vehicle is related to the robbery.

The female victim sustained minor injuries as a result of this incident.

Investigators believe that this was not a random act and that the female victim was specifically targeted.

Anyone with information relating to this matter is urged to contact Detective Constable Kate Livingstone with the 1 District Criminal Investigations Branch at 905-688-4111 ext. 4358
