Police say on Tuesday February 21st 2017 at approx. 11:47pm, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service attended an apartment complex located on Lake Street in the City of St. Catharines in response to an assault that just occurred. Upon arrival police learned that a 37 year old male suffered minor injuries after being assaulted by two suspects armed with a weapon. He received medical treatment and was later released from the hospital. This was not a random act of violence.

 

Investigation identified the two suspects as 53 year old Jamie Westlake and 23 year old Reid Dyson both of St. Catharines and as a result, on February 22nd 2017, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit began to look for Jamie Westlake,  as he was actively attempting to evade his arrest.

The investigation led Police to a motel in the City of Burlington. At approximately 7:00 p.m., Police arrested Westlake without incident at this motel.

During the arrest, Police seized 12 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine and a quantity of Canadian currency. Police also arrested a 34 year old female from St.Catharines and charged her accordingly as a result of the drugs seized.

Further charges laid as a result of the arrest of Jamie WESTLAKE are as follows:

Disqualified Driving
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
Fail to comply with Probation

Arrested and charged was 34 year old Lisa BLAKE-KNOX of St.Catharines.

BLAKE-KNOX has been charged with the following offences;

WESTLAKE was held in custody pending a bail hearing on February 23rd 2017 while BLAKE-KNOX was released on a Promise to appear with a future court date in April of 2017.

While conducting this investigation, Police were confronted with a vehicle occupying three individual’s associated to WESTLAKE. During this interaction Police arrested these individuals for possessing a controlled substance. A further search of the vehicle revealed 292 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine and a quantity of psilocybin, prescription medication and marijuana.

Arrested and charged was 26 year old Tyler GALWAY, 19 year old Dominik VIAU and 27 year old Michael PERRY all from the Niagara Region.

GALWAY, VIAU and PERRY have been charged with the following offences;

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

As a result of this investigation Police seized over $58,000 worth of drugs and $650 in Canadian Currency.
