Niagara Regional Police say they have wrapped two drug investigations in the area.

 

In the first investigation, since February of 2017, members of the St. Catharines Street Crime Unit have been conducting a drug investigation into a male involved in the sale of heroin in St.Catharines and they began to monitor the activities of this individual.

Police began to observe several suspected drug transactions by this male and say he was arrested on March 1, in possession of a quantity of heroin and money. A later search of this male’s residence revealed a larger quantity of heroin along with more currency believed the proceeds of his heroin sales.

Arrested and charged with the following was Trevor Winterstein a 48 year old resident of St.Catharines:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
Failing to Comply with his Recognizance

In total Police seized a quantity of Heroin that holds an estimated street value of $3300 and $750 in Canadian currency.

In the second drug investigation, on March 1st, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit concluded another drug investigation involving a male involved in the sale of cocaine in the St.Catharines and Thorold area. At approximately 9:03 p.m., Police arrested him and found him to be in Possession of a quantity of cocaine. Police then executed a CDSA search warrant at his residence where Police seized a large quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine and money.

Arrested and charged with the following were two individuals.  The first,  Christopher Landell  a 47 year old resident of Thorold was charged with:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000

The second, Lindsay Collins a 30 year old resident of Thorold was charged with:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000

In total Police seized 289 grams of cocaine / crack cocaine which holds an estimated street value of $28,900 and seized $4635 in Canadian currency. Police are appreciative for the support provided by the St.Catharines and Thorold residents for assisting in this matter. Members of the public are also encouraged to contact police to curtail any future problems in their community.
