A Welland man is $1 million dollars richer after winning the March 25th Lotto 6/49 draw.
Phillip Armbrust, a father of two, and grandfather to two made sure to check his ticket after his daughters let him know that there was a winner in Welland. After a quick trip to the ticket scanner, it was confirmed that he won.
Armbrust says that “the first ticket I scanned was the one. On the screen I saw the words, ‘Big Winner.’ I went back to my truck and drove home to share the news with my daughters. All I kept thinking was, ‘I can’t believe this is happening to me!’”
What are his plans with the cash? Saving for his grand kids future and a few home renos for now.
The winning ticket was purchased in Welland at Petro Canada on Niagara Street .
