On Monday, April 10th at approximately 11:40 p.m. the Niagara Regional Police Service, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Niagara Falls Fire Services responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Netherby Road near Crowland Avenue in Niagara Falls.

 

Police say that the initial investigation revealed that a 2009 Dodge Journey motor vehicle was being operated eastbound on Netherby Road when the 42 year-old female driver, left the roadway and hit a hydro pole. The vehicle continued across Crowland Avenue and into a farmer’s field where it rolled a number of times before coming to final rest right side up.

The 42 year-old female driver, a resident of Fort Erie, had to extricated from the vehicle and she was flown to an out of town hospital with life threatening injuries. There were two other passengers in this vehicle. A 39 year-old male from Port Colborne and a 23 year-old male from Welland. These passengers suffered serious injuries and were transported to hospital by ambulance.

This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit. Any witnesses with information regarding this collision are asked to contact investigators at (905) 688-4111, extension 5500.
