Last night at approximately 10:15 p.m. the Niagara Regional Police Service, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the St. Catharines Fire Services responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Pelham Road west of Seventh Street Louth in St. Catharines.

 

Initial investigation revealed that a 2006 Mazda 3 was being driven eastbound on Pelham Road when the 17-year-old St. Catharines male lost control of this vehicle and crossed into the westbound lane colliding with a westbound 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 52-year-old female from Lincoln. There were 4 occupants in the Mazda and 2 occupants in the Dodge.

A 17-year-old female passenger in the Mazda was fatally injured in this collision. The driver and one other occupant suffered serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital before being taken to an out of town hospital.  The fourth occupant suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger of the Dodge were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

This collision remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
