Niagara VegFest is a great event that is coming to town for its 7th year at Market Square in St. Catharines this weekend and it has expanded to include absolutely something for everyone!
The festival brings together over 100 plant-based vendors and thousands of visitors each year to enjoy the fare (visitors come from all over Southern Ontario). This year it has tons of extras to enjoy including awesome speakers, musical entertainment a wine tour and a dining event.

This year to kick things off the dining event, Veg-ilicious, in which local restaurants offer a prix fixe, three-course vegan menu is on now until Sunday, June 3. Local restaurants participating this year include: Fiddler’s Pour House, the Lemon Tree, Mahtay Café and Lounge, oddBird, the Office Tap & Grill, and Rise Above.
Tomorrow, VegFest in the Vineyard happens, a self-guided wine and food tour through Niagara’s wine country includes stops at Pillitteri Estates Winery and the Hare Wine Co. in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Cave Spring Cellars and Flat Rock Cellars in Jordan. Tickets are $20 .
Another Saturday events will be a screening of the documentary H.O.P.E.: What You Eat Matters at 7 p.m. at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre Film House in St. Catharines. For information on the film go to the website HERE. Here is a preview below:
Sunday is the day that the vendors hit Market Square in St. Catharines, joined by world-class speakers, entertainment, and more. Admission is $5, children 12 and under are free to attend. The first 5,000 in the door will get a $10 food voucher for Fiddler’s Pour House.
Folks are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.
