Did you know that the Niagara SPCA proudly serves the residents and animals of Welland, Port Colborne, Wainfleet, Pelham, Lincoln, West Lincoln, Niagara Falls, Niagara on the Lake and Haldimand County?

For over 80 years, we have been rescuing, rehoming and advocating for the homeless, vulnerable pets in our communities Last year, the Niagara SPCA found homes and provided care for over 1800 homeless or unwanted animals. We continue to forge new relationships with remote First Nations communities through our mobile spay/neuter efforts and have given assistance and education to other animal centred groups in need in Ontario and beyond. We work hard for all animals in need. Our goal is that every pet has the “happily ever after” they deserve.

To accomplish everything we need to do, we need help. Our fundraisers are a way for humans to help the animals in need in a very direct way….and to have some fun doing it!

We are thrilled to be hosting our biggest annual fundraiser, our 24th Annual Gala Dinner Auction on November 2, 2019, at the Greg Frewin Theatre in Niagara Falls. This year we have a medieval theme planned. It will be a spectacular evening including live and silent auctions, a buffet feast, live entertainment, music, dancing and games. Events like this raise the funds required to allow us to do all we can to help the animals in our care. Medical intervention, special equipment, training, enrichment…the animals deserve the best we can provide. Community support allows uninterrupted quality care for the animals.

Tickets are on sale for the Gala right now. What an excellent way to thank a client, or to network in your community. Or what a great staff Christmas party this could be! Early bird prices apply right now. If you would like more information about the work we do, or about the gala, please feel free to contact me. An early bird ticket price applies right now. We can accommodate tables of 4, 6, or 8 people. What an excellent way to thank a client, or to do some networking. This would also be an easy way to host a staff or family Christmas party.

We also have our Will Campaign fundraiser happening until the end of March. Brandon Boone, a lifelong resident of the Niagara Region, former vice-president of the Niagara Falls Humane Society and senior partner at the law firm Daniel & Partners LLP in St. Catharines, will be donating his time to the Humane Society again this spring. A basic will, continuing power of attorney for property and power of attorney for personal care will cost an individual $550.00 and a couple $750.00, a $50.00 savings, with no disbursements or HST, and all cheques made payable to the Humane Society. If you are interested, please contact Brandon’s assistant, Korinne, at 905-688-1125 extension 3272 or marchk@niagaralaw.ca.

Pictured is adorable Americus. She is a 2 year old St. Bernard mixShe is an enthusiastic puppy trapped in a very large body. She has a boisterous, enthusiastic personality, is super friendly and loves toys. She knows the commands for “sit” and “paw”. She’s had a rough life so far, so she needs some training and lots of tender loving care.

Visit the shelter nearest to you, in Niagara Falls, Welland and Port Colborne. There are so many animals who deserve your love and support.
