Canada’s largest wine festival, the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival  continues this weekend in historic Montebello Park in downtown St. Catharines.

 

A celebration of Niagara and the bounty of harvest, the Montebello Park wine and culinary experience truly showcases all that the region has to offer.

Grab your friends and get ready for the best party of the year in Niagara as you head down to the park to enjoy over 100 wines, mouthwatering local cuisine, 50 hours of live music and a variety of entertaining wine seminars.

VQA Wines are priced at 2-3 tokens per glass.
AND local chefs are serving regional for 1-4 tokens per portion

FAQ ABOUT MONTEOBELLO PARK EXPERIENCE:

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The Niagara Grape & Wine Festival is a FREE admission event! Wine and food can be purchased using tokens – each token costs $3.50 (incl. HST) and can be purchased at the Token Tents in the park. Your festival glass is priced at 1 token. Food is priced by the vendors at 2-4 tokens.

HOW IS THE WINE IS PRICED?
Main Park – 2 or 3 tokens/glass (10 or 15 tokens/bottle). Harvest Lounge -2 tokens/glass (10 tokens/bottle). Sommelier Lounge – 3 tokens/glass (15 tokens/bottle). Wine Garden Lounge – 3 tokens/glass (15 tokens/bottle).

CAN I PURCHASE TOKENS IN ADVANCE?
You can skip the line and purchase tokens in advance here and pick them up at guest services in front of the harvest lounge at the park.

WHERE CAN I PARK?
The City of St. Catharines offers over 2,500 free parking spaces on Friday (after 6pm) and all day Saturday and Sunday within a 15 minute walk of Montebello Park. Please visit the city’s website to view the parking map.

WHAT KIND OF FAMILY FUN CAN WE FIND AT GRAPE & WINE?
All kinds! Montebello Park is open to friends of all ages (ID required to access wine). The Tim Hortons Family Fun Zone is designed for families with activities, seating areas and kid-friendly food options. The Pied Piper Parade on September 21 invites kids to join in the fun as a parade participant and then enjoy a post-parade BBQ sponsored by the Real Canadian Superstore. And, of course, the Meridian Grande Parade has been a family favourite for 68 years … don’t miss it!

HOW “GREEN” IS GRAPE & WINE?
We’re green and groovy! All plates, napkins and cutlery are 100% compostable, and compost and recycling bins are located throughout the park. The plastic wine glasses are reusable and can be used at the Water Wagon for free, cool water throughout the event. Just like the City of St. Catharines, we are a plastic bottle-free zone. New for 2019, donate your wine glass to the Live Art installation in the #MyWineLife exhibit.

IS THE PARK “POOCH FRIENDLY”?
Montebello Park is a pet-free zone. Please leave your furry friends at home.
