Some good news as the gorgeous weather takes hold of the region as Niagara-on-the-Lake has officially reopened all municipal green spaces, pavilions, shelters, soccer fields, basketball courts, and baseball diamonds.
As per COVID-19 guidelines, the city says the areas are for use by members of one household only, and organized recreational sports are not allowed at this time.
As a result, it is expected that Town Staff will begin removing “Park Closed” signs, and yellow tape today and replace it with signs reminding residents about safety measures.
The majority of municipal parking lots will be reopened to accommodate those visiting Town parks.
Still closed however will be: outdoor playgrounds, structures and equipment, fitness equipment, public swimming pools, splash pads and wading pools.
By-law Enforcement Officers will still be out and about to make sure people are playing by the rules which means no more than five people outside the same household.
Other considerations to remember: Social distancing and yesterday the Province recommended wearing a cloth mask, if you cannot maintain physical distance.
