Premiere Doug Ford says Ontario is not ready to revert back to Stage 2 in response to the COVID-19 situation that is once again starting to escalate.
Even though there has been increased pressure from some health-care professionals to move Ontario back to Stage 2, Ford said today that the province isn’t ready for that yet.
“We aren’t rolling back today, not saying that’s never going to happen, but that’s not the conversation we are going to have today,” Ford said.
The province logged 625 new infections Wednesday morning, up from the 554 cases added on Tuesday.
Officials said Wednesday that new COVID-19 cases are now rising every age group and to date a total of 2,848 Ontarians have died with COVID-19.
