Niagara Regional Police say they have arrested a man in Niagara Region after conducting a fraud investigation relating to window and door construction.

In November of 2020, the Central Fraud Unit started an investigation involving several frauds reportedly taking place by Gehres Windows and Doors.

Detectives determined that the offences involved a man accepting construction jobs replacing windows and doors and subsequently taking money for services that he would never provide. As a result of their ongoing investigation, detectives have been able to identify 6 victims.

On May 13, 2021, the suspect was arrested.

Daniel Gehres (63 years old) was arrested and charged with the following offence of:

Fraud Under $5,000 (4 Counts)
Fraud Over $5,000 (2 Counts)

Gehres was released with a future court date.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives believe there are more victims.
