In early October 2014 members of the Niagara Regional Police Guns, Gangs and Grow unit received information regarding a marijuana growing operation located at a Grassie Road address in West Lincoln.
On October 9th 2014 Detectives assisted by the Uniform Branch and the Emergency Task Unit executed a controlled drugs and substance act search warrant at the location. Police arrested one male in relation to this investigation. Police say they seized over $114,000.00 worth of marijuana from the property as well as a 12 gauge shotgun that was carelessly stored within the residence.
32 year old, Carmel Buttigieg of Fort Erie faces several charges including Production of a Controlled Substance, Possession for the Purpose of trafficking, Possession of a controlled substance and Careless storage of a firearm.
The accused male was transported to #1 District and was later released from custody pending a future court appearance.
