According to police, at approximately 2:15AM on Friday, December 12, 2014 the Niagara Regional Police Service and Niagara EMS were called to a downtown St. Catharines bar for a male who had just been assaulted.

Emergency personnel arrived on scene to find an injured victim suffering from serious facial injuries. The forty three year old St. Catharines man was taken to the Niagara Health System by ambulance where he required surgery for his injuries.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival and has yet be located. He is described as Male, White,  25-35 yrs, 5’8-6’0, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Investigators believe the suspect was observed in the downtown St. Paul Street area prior to the assault. At this time its believed he was wearing a red hoody sweatshirt with black/grey markings and a black leather coat.

The incident is currently being investigated by the 1 District Detective Office. Witnesses and anyone with information are asked to contact 905-688-4111 Ext.4244
