On January 31st, a Regional Coroner contacted the Niagara Regional Police Service to report the death of 57-year-old Michael Deline of St. Catharines.  The Coroner requested an investigation into this death be conducted by police.

Police had learned that Mr. Deline had attended the Niagara Health Systems St. Catharines Site on Fourth Avenue on January 14th complaining of an injury.  Mr. Deline’s condition quickly worsened and he was transferred to the Hamilton General Hospital later that same day; he died in hospital 17 days later.
