The Niagara Regional Police would like to warn residents to lock their vehicle and residential doors.
Police are urging residents to take precautions in light of recent overnight residential break and enters and thefts from vehicles situated in the Campden area of West Lincoln. During these incidents, unknown suspect(s) gained entry via unlocked access points such as doors and windows. Suspect(s) then made off with money and other valuables.
TIPS to consider to prevent such crimes:
Ensure your windows and doors to your residence are secure. This includes locking the door leading into the residence from the garage.
Lock your vehicle doors if parked outside.
Keep exterior home lights on overnight.
Remove garage door openers from vehicles parked outside. Ensure garage door openers are placed in the “lock” position overnight
Dont leave any valuables, especially car keys in plain view from the outside of your home.
The public is being asked to contact Police immediately if they notice any suspicious activity involving any persons or vehicles. Please contact Detective Rosborough at the 8 District Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-945-2211 extension 5436 to report any information.
