Polioce say, on Monday April 4th, 2016 at 6:19 am uniformed officer from the Niagara Regional Police responded to reports of a robbery at a convenient store in the area of Murray Street and Fallsview Boulevard in the city of Niagara Falls.

 

Two males entered the store and subsequently assaulted the female cashier before they made out with a quantity of cigarettes.  The males exited the store and fled on foot in an easterly direction.  Uniform officers flooded the area in an effort to locate the male suspects but were unsuccessful.  The victim suffered only minor injuries.

Detectives from the Casino Patrol Unit canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance and were successful in obtaining the identify of both males.

With the assistance of the Niagara Falls Street Crime Unit, the OPP Casino Unit and the Fallsview Casino Surveillance Unit the males were located and charged.

Charged with one count of robbery contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada is 19 year old Marcio De Oliveira from Brantford and 20 year old Marco Sejko of Scarborough.

Both males are being held pending a bail hearing which is scheduled for 9:00 am on Tuesday April 5th, 2016 at the Robert S.K. Welch court house in St. Catharines.
