Since November of 2015, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit have been conducting a drug investigation involving two individuals who were allegedly responsible for selling large amounts of Fentanyl throughout the City of St.Catharines.

 

Police say, on November 4th 2016, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit began to monitor the activities of these individuals.  Police began to observe several suspected drug transactions by these individual. At approximately 4:33 p.m., Police arrested one of the individuals in the midst of a suspected drug transaction. During this arrest Police seized a large quantity of Fentanyl and Canadian currency.

Police were later granted judicial authorization to search their Port Dalhousie residence which resulted in the seizure of further fentanyl.

Arrested and charged was 34 year old Jeffrey Thompson of St.Catharines.

Thompson has been charged with the following offence;

Trafficking a controlled Substance x 2
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000

Arrested and charged was 36 year old Justin Lamb of Hamilton

Lamb has been charged with the following offences;
Trafficking a controlled Substance
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

Three other individuals were arrested and charged with Possession of a controlled substance to wit; Fentanyl. It is believed that these individuals were regular clients of Thompson and Lamb. As a result of this investigation Police seized $20,000 worth of Fentanyl and $1450 in Canadian Currency.

Thompson and Lamb were held in custody pending a bail hearing on November 5th 2016. The other three individuals were released on an officer in charge undertaking with a future court date in January 2017.
