Police say that during the month of November 2016, members of the Niagara Regional Police Morality Unit with the assistance of the Canada Border Services Agency concluded an importation investigation for Furanyl-fentanyl powder.

 

Police and CBSA officers executed two separate warrants at a Welland address on Monday November 28th.  Arrested and charged are Mary Northen 31yrs, and Krisztian Toro 40yrs of Welland.

The two individuals have been charged with Importing a Schedule I Substance (Furanyl-fentanyl powder) contrary to section 6(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Furanyl-fentanyl powder) for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Officers seized 58 grams of Furanyl-fentanyl powder, bulking agent, packaging materials, a scale, and computer equipment.
