After a 5 month investigation, Niagara Regional Police say, a St. Catharines man is facing charges for a series of commercial break and enters and thefts around the city.

Since January, police have been investigating various incidents with the suspicion it was the same individual responsible.

Earlier this week, after the last reported break and enter it was discovered three firearms were stolen and as a result of their investigation, police were able to identify the suspect and make an arrest.

Charged with various offences  including five counts of break and enter, possession of a firearm and breach of probation is 37-year-old Cameron Maclean of St. Catharines.

He’s being held in custody pending a bail hearing and police are still searching for the firearms and asking anyone who may be able to assist to contact them.
