Last night at about 10 pm, Niagara Regional Police say that Emergency services responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car on Geneva Street near Millward Avenue in  St.Catharines.

 

Initial investigation revealed that a 79-year-old St.Catharines female was crossing Geneva Street when she was struck by a northbound Cheverolet Equinox that was being driven by a 32-year-old St.Catharines male.

The pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital before succumbing to her injuries.  The driver of the Chevrolet was unharmed.

This collision remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
