Niagara Regional Police say six people have been injured after a shooting in downtown St. Catharines in the early morning hours.

 

Emergency crews were called to the area around Karma nightclub at 55 St. Paul Street,  at around 2:30 a.m. and it is believed four males and two females are being treated in hospital for gunshot wounds, two of whom have been taken to an out-of-town hospital with serious injuries, one by air ambulance.

St. Paul Street remained closed between Queen Street and William Street Sunday morning as police investigate this incident. Any witnesses are asked to contact police immediately at 905-688-4111. There is no witness description at this time.
