A video called SHUT IT DOWN Niagara Falls capturing the Clifton Hill area of Niagara Falls reportedly this past weekend is causing alarm for many including health officials.
Posted in a YouTube Channel called “Amusement Insiders” and shot by Niagara Falls resident Cole Morningstar on Saturday July 18th about 9 pm, the video shows tons of people not socially distancing, not wearing masks and basically carrying on the business of being a tourist as usual. It is important to note that Niagara Falls in one of several municipalities in the Niagara Region that has not yet taken a position for or against mandatory face coverings at indoor public spaces. Right now in the Niagara Region masks are mandatory in St. Catharines and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Most councillors are awaiting word on a possible bylaw encompassing all of Niagara Region, which is in front of the regional council tonight for debate.
As for re-opening in general, the Niagara Region is still in Stage 2 and will not enter Stage 3 until Friday.
