Niagara Regional Police say there are two people now charged after a shocking jewellery robbery that happened at the Pen Centre January 16, 2025.

After a daring heist at Griffin Jewellery, detectives have successfully identified, located, and charged two youths in connection with the crime.

Arrest and Charges

A 15-year-old male from Scarborough has been apprehended and faces a series of charges, including:

  • Robbery
  • Disguised with Intent
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Administering a Noxious Thing
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Failure to Comply with Youth Sentence Order

A 17-year-old male from Springhill, Nova Scotia, has also been arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Disguised with Intent
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Administering a Noxious Thing

Legal Restrictions on Identification

Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada, the NRPS cannot release the identities of the youths charged in this case. Both individuals attended bail hearings and are currently remanded into custody.

Community’s Role and Ongoing Investigation

The NRPS extends its gratitude to the community for their invaluable assistance in helping to identify and hold these individuals accountable. However, the investigation is far from over. Detectives are diligently working to identify and locate the four remaining suspects involved.
