For seven incredible decades Clare’s has been the cornerstone of community, innovation, and dedication in the motorcycle world of Niagara Region. The much-anticipated anniversary party was a day was filled with unforgettable memories, hearty laughs, and plenty of love to go around!
Attendees enjoyed a heartfelt line up of speeches from the family, friends and many local dignitaries who noted the significance of a family business that lasted 70 years and its enduring legacy on the region!
The old and much loved story was retold at the event about the day that changed everything. It all started when Founder John Clare, a plumber at the time, got paid for a job with a Harley Davidson®, which quite literally put his wheels in motion for a complete career shift and path in life!
From that point, it all began as a small shop in Welland, Ontario, Canada back in 1955. Clare’s eventually then started up in Fenwick where over the years it has grown to be the large and successful business that it is today and expanded to include Clare’s Harley-Davidson® of Niagara in N-O-T-L.
Spotlight on Clare’s History and Community Impact
The highlight of the event was the congratulatory announcements at noon, featuring speeches that paid tribute to Clare’s monumental impact.
The speakers included Pelham Mayor Marvin Junkin, Michael Zwiep MPP speaker (who attended on behalf of Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff), as well as members of the Clare family—Randy Clare, Robin Primerano, and Darren Clare.
All participants shared touching remarks along with industry representatives and local clubs like the Fenwick Lions Club and Welland County Motorcycle Club. The town crier made the moments extra special; officiating the event.
Following the speeches, attendees gathered for the ceremonial cake cutting, accompanied by a delicious lunch catered by PIGOUT Catering. The atmosphere was abuzz with camaraderie and pride as guests celebrated this exceptional milestone.
A Day Packed with Fun and Festivities
Door prizes, draws, and the chance to look at the 2025 lineup of bikes from Yamaha, Suzuki, CFMOTO, Honda and more delighted guests alongside vintage bikes and exhibits by local groups like The Hope Center and Niagara College Rider Training.
The on-location presence of Giant FM added a lively soundtrack to the day’s activities.

The event was truly a ride through history and a glimpse into an exciting future. Clare’s continues to rev up the motorcycle community, creating memories and forging connections that will last for many more decades to come.
