Police say they are actively searching for a suspect involved in the theft and resale of stolen utility trailers across Niagara.
In June 2025, detectives from NRPS 3 District (Welland/Pelham) launched an investigation after two trailers were reported stolen from a Welland business. One trailer was recovered in St. Catharines, but the second—a 2022 black Norstar dump trailer marked with “Plaza Tenders” on both sides—remains missing. Officers are asking for the public’s help to locate it.
As a result, police issued an arrest warrant for Jeremy BOYER, 35, on multiple charges including:
- Theft Over $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Prohibited Operation of a Vehicle
- Breaching Probation and Release Orders
Boyer is also wanted on an unrelated warrant and is allegedly using the alias “Jeremy Troy” to sell stolen trailers on Facebook Marketplace at prices far below market value.
NRPS urges buyers to be vigilant—ask for registration and proof of ownership before purchasing trailers online.
Anyone with information about Boyer or the missing trailer is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Rick WEASNER at 905-688-4111, ext. 1009215. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers Niagara at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) for a possible cash reward.
