Detectives with the Niagara Regional Police Service have released new details in the ongoing investigation of a shooting that occurred in St. Catharines on October 17, 2025, at approximately 10:20 PM.
Thanks to newly obtained security footage, investigators now have clearer descriptions of the two male suspects and the vehicle involved. Both suspects were wearing ski masks at the time of the incident. One was dressed in a distinctive sweater—white on the top half and black on the bottom—with dark pants. The second suspect wore a black sweater layered over a grey shirt, also paired with dark pants.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark grey sedan, last seen heading southbound on Vine Street from Old Pine Trail shortly after the shooting.
Police are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who has dashcam footage, video surveillance, or any relevant information, to contact the NRPS at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension 1009703. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Niagara at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online. Cash rewards are available for information that leads to an arrest.

On the night of October 17, 2025, NRPS officers responded to reports of a shooting at a plaza near Vine Street and Old Pine Trail. Upon arrival, they discovered a 26-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an out-of-region trauma centre with critical but non-life-threatening injuries.
Initial reports indicated two male suspects wearing masks were involved. The NRPS quickly secured the scene for forensic processing and launched a full investigation led by the 1 District CIB. Detectives believe the incident was targeted and confirmed there was no ongoing threat to public safety.
